New Addition to the Download Center: Console Roms |
|
Dec 03, 2008 - 9:09 PM - by Nimrod
|
We would like to announce the new addition to the Digiex Download Center, Console Roms.
Ever wanted to play the old classics, but your old console has broken down or is lost somewhere in your loft? Well now Digiex has expanded its Download Center to include the new section called Console Roms. Here you will find games for many old classic systems like the NES, N64, Mega Drive and tons more. We also include information on how to install Emulators to play them on your PC for the various systems.
This is a new development so don't expect it to be massive right now, but it will grow with user contributions to include a wider range of games. Members can upload new games to share with their friends and the general public. If you wish to begin uploading all your roms to share, please read this first.
Plans are already in place to help deal with the section growing, including sub-forums for each device but at first we wanted to see how you, the users take to this new section and if it interests you.
At Digiex, we are constantly looking at ways to improve our site for you, the visitors. If you have any ideas for future expansion of Digiex to cover more interests of yours or comments on our current services, please do let us know in the Members Forum.

Black Mesa Official Trailer |
|
Dec 01, 2008 - 6:27 PM - by InsaneNutter

The Black Mesa official trailer is now available for your viewing pleasure.
The wait was just long enough for all kinds of crazy bets to be made, but time to cash those in, because the Black Mesa Trailer is good to go and up for viewing! You can download it from a few different places, or watch it on youtube. We hope this gives you a small taste of what the game will be like, and we hope it was worth the extra wait!
We also forgot to include some great Power Up shots by Kim Dahlgren, so be sure and check those out on our media page! This officially concludes our media release, but not future updates! And as stated in the trailer, the days this mod stays in development are truly numbered. Hang tight, because at long last, it is coming.

Living a Digital Existence Week 7
Back to normal this week with a “usual” length Living A Digital Existence...
Paying the price for being a next generation gamer...
This week, disaster struck. Whilst playing Gears of War 2, my headset decided to pack in, and left me speechless, literally. Yes tragic as it sounds, I did not fret. I thought to myself, “No worries David, just go out tomorrow and buy a new one, everything will be OK.” But no, everything would most definitely not be OK. You see, in all their wisdom, shops have seemed to stop selling the plain old wired headsets, in favour of the wireless ones. Now, I don’t actually have a problem with this, except that the wireless headsets cost double that of a wired headset. Yes, instead of paying around £15 for a wired headset, I had to get a £35 headset if I was to talk to my friends over Xbox live. This, my friends, is what I have a problem with.
It doesn’t even stop there; I shall rattle off some figures for you...
Microsoft Play & Charge Kit: £14.99;
Xbox 360 Media remote; £19.99;
Microsoft Wired Controller: £24.99;
Microsoft Wireless Pad (White): £28.99;
Microsoft Wireless Pad (Black): £32.99;
Microsoft Messenger Kit: £24.99;
Microsoft Wireless Headset: £34.99;
Microsoft 120GB HDD: £89.99;
Need I go on?
Whilst I understand not all of these items are essential, some, such as an extra controller, an extra headset are pretty much essential if have any friends at all. Couple these prices with the price of a Premium Xbox 360 (£169.99) and the cost of say 4 games (£40 each) you are paying upwards of £350 for your Xbox “Experience”. And of course, you can only use Microsoft or Microsoft approved products (I’m including 3rd party... [Read More]

OFFICIAL: Title Update for Gears of War 2 Now Available |
|
Nov 27, 2008 - 8:53 PM - by Nimrod
|
Hey all,
I’m happy to announce that this morning, at 3:40 AM PST, we released a title update that should help with the current matchmaking issues. In order to get the update out as quickly as possible, we focused just on immediate infrastructure issues and have left any potential gameplay issues for a future update. Here’s what’s in today’s title update:
- Adjustments to make Public matchmaking faster, especially in the single player party and the four player party case. Some of these adjustments should be felt immediately and some will play out over several days as our update enables us to reduce player segmentation by reducing the number of servers required to do matchmaking. This will increase the number of possible matches available for you to join.
- A tweak that should prevent us from losing some of our additional detailed stats data that we gather for gearsofwar.com. Due to the large number of concurrent matches, our stats gathering servers were not able to collect data for every single match played. The Xbox LIVE leaderboards are 100% accurate but our existing stats web pages may have some missing data prior to the update.
- A fix to address the issue where some players were unable to start the story-based campaign if Xbox LIVE was down or unavailable.
Something to keep in mind, if you have been playing Gears 2 since the title update was made available, then you will need to restart the game in order to be prompted for the update. If you don’t do this, then a situation will occur where people without the update will not be able to match make with people who have the update. This has nothing to do with the game or this update in particular, just the way the title update system works.
We want to thank... [Read More]
